TMP464 is a 5-channel (4 remote and 1 local) high precision remote and local temperature sensor

The TMP464 device is a high precision, ADS1286UB low power temperature sensor C compatible interface using a two-wire, SMBus or I 2 . In addition to local temperature, up to four remote diode-connected temperature zones can be monitored simultaneously. Aggregating temperature measurements across the system can improve performance with tighter guard bands and can reduce board complexity. A typical use case is monitoring the temperature of different processors such as MCUs, GPUs and FPGAs in complex systems such as servers and telecom equipment. Advanced features such as series resistance cancellation, programmable non-ideality factor, programmable offset and programmable temperature limit are included to provide a robust thermal monitoring solution with increased accuracy and noise immunity.

Each of the four remote channels (and local channels) can be independently programmed with two thresholds that are triggered when the measurement location exceeds the corresponding temperature. Additionally, there is a programmable hysteresis setting to avoid constant switching around the threshold.

The TMP464 device provides high-accuracy (0.75°C) and high-resolution (0.0625°C) measurements. The device supports low-voltage rails (1.7 V to 3.6 V), common two-wire interfaces, and is available in a small, space-saving package (3 mm × 3 mm) for easy integration into computing systems. The remote junction supports a temperature range of –55°C to +150°C. The TMP464 has a pre-programmed temperature limit of 125°C.
